Baker Mayfield was 2-8 against teams still in playoff contention heading into final game of the 2021 regular season. Mayfield prevented back-up QB Case Keenum from playing during the regular season other than a victory against Denver, even though Mayfield was injured. That is why the Browns did not re-sign him.
